Who's eligible

You're a government school teacher, permanent or contract, registered under the School Education Department of Punjab / Punjab Teachers Foundation.
Eligible cadres include PST, Elementary, EST and General cadre teachers.
You're no older than 55 years.
You hold a valid motorcycle driving licence or learner's permit.

The selection process gives extra weight to female teachers and to teachers posted in rural or remote areas, since these groups typically face the hardest daily commutes.

What it costs

The Punjab government subsidises 30 to 40 percent of the e-bike's price directly. The remaining amount is financed interest-free through the Bank of Punjab, with reported installments starting from around Rs 3,600 a month, depending on the model and term.
