Insurance & Safety Cover Explained

One of the scheme's included benefits is bike insurance — but it's worth understanding exactly what that means before you're relying on it.

What's confirmed

What to do after an accident

  1. Make sure everyone involved is safe first, and get medical help if needed before anything else.
  2. For any significant damage or injury, inform the police and get a report where the incident warrants one.
  3. Contact the Bank of Punjab helpline to inform them of the incident, since they coordinate with the insurance panel on your policy.
  4. Keep any documentation — photos, police report, repair estimates — as the insurance company will typically require this to process a claim.

If your bike is stolen

  1. File a police report (FIR) immediately — this is usually required before any insurance claim can proceed.
  2. Report the theft to the Bank of Punjab as soon as possible, since the bike is financed through them.
  3. Follow up on the claim through the insurance company on BOP's panel, using your policy and FIR details.

Exact claim procedures, coverage limits, and what counts as covered damage depend on the specific insurance company and policy assigned to your bike — this page explains the general shape of the process, not a substitute for your actual policy document. For anything specific to your case, contact the Bank of Punjab helpline at 042-111-333-267 or the insurance company named on your policy.
