After the Ballot: What Happens Next
Being selected in the ballot isn't the last step — there's a short process between winning your spot and actually riding away on your e-bike. Here's what's confirmed about that gap, and what genuinely isn't yet public.
The confirmed steps
You're notified by SMS and the portal
If selected, you'll receive an SMS on your registered number, and your status on bikes.punjab.gov.pk will update. Keep that number active — see our application status guide if you want to check manually.
Visit your assigned Bank of Punjab branch or dealer
Take your original documents (the same ones from your application: CNIC, enrollment certificate, learner's permit, domicile) to complete the financing paperwork in person.
Sign your financing agreement
This confirms your monthly installment schedule. The government continues to cover the extra bank charges, so you're signing for the bike's price only — no down payment has been introduced for students as of this writing.
Collect your bike, helmet and safety rod
These are handed over together at your assigned dealer once your agreement is finalised.
Attend the two-day riding safety training
This happens before you're expected to ride independently, and is included at no extra cost.
When does the first installment start?
Not independently confirmed — check with your branch: we haven't found a reliable, official statement on the exact number of days after signing before your first installment is deducted. Some unofficial sites publish a specific figure here, but we can't verify it against an official source, so we're not repeating it. Ask this directly at your Bank of Punjab branch when you sign your agreement.
The government's delivery target
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed that eligible students be provided their e-bikes within six weeks — reported by multiple news outlets including Business Recorder and The Nation. This is described as a target for the government and Bank of Punjab to meet, not a guarantee with a penalty attached, so treat it as the expected timeline rather than a fixed date you're owed.
If you weren't selected
Students who aren't selected in one phase's ballot are generally carried forward or able to reapply in the next phase without penalty — you don't lose your place by not being picked once. There is no widely reported formal appeal process for a ballot outcome itself; if your application was rejected specifically due to a documentation or verification problem (rather than the ballot), reapplying with corrected documents in the next window is the standard path.
